Ralph Rothaker

St. Anne Institute

Ralph retired as a public-school administrator in 2013, and currently serves as the
principal of St. Anne Institute, located in Albany, New York. St. Anne’s is a residential
and day-service facility for adolescent girls who have been identified by the courts and
public schools as difficult to place. Ralph and his staff are committed to creating and
maintaining a trauma-sensitive school environment, where all students feel safe and
high academic expectations are achieved.

Steve Sawyer

Institute of HeartMath

Steve Sawyer is a dual-licensed psychotherapist filled with passion and knowledge surrounding the intervention and change process. His experience comes from two decades of interventions with tough-to-reach client populations in therapy settings ranging from residential to community-based to outpatient to wilderness therapy. He is a trained trainer of several unique therapeutic models, including somatic trigger release techniques, Brainspotting, traumatic memory reprocessing, and HeartMath. Through his experience, he has authored two books and co-founded New Vision Wilderness Therapy Programs with a trauma-informed and clinical integrity focus with locations in northern Wisconsin and in Bend, Oregon. He is additionally a key clinical training staff for the Calo Family of Treatment Programs. He works as a Core Therapeutic Training Development Staff with the Institute of HeartMath and is an International Brainspotting Trainer. Steve's trainings are recognized nationwide for cutting-edge therapeutic techniques and inspiration.
